CALLING ALL ASTRONAUTS UNVEIL THEIR “ANTI-SOCIAL NETWORK”

art_RingMasterReview

UK goth punks ‘Calling All Astronauts’ have just released their hotly tipped second album ‘Anti-Social Network’ through Supersonic Media.

Calling All Astronauts are a London based, politically charged three-piece who rose from the ashes of ‘US:UK’. Featuring vocalist/programmer/producer David B, ex-Caffeine guitarist J Browning and Marionettes bassist Paul McCrudden, Calling All Astronauts blend electro, rock, post-punk and even dubstep to a sound that ignites and engulfs.

Since their incarnation in 2012, the trio have racked up a slew of accolades including four Number One’s in the Twitter Music Charts (knocking Adele from the top spot), having their latest single “Empire” notch up a three-month stint in the ‘Official European Indie Chart’ peeking at Number 2, and sharing stages with the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, PWEI, Sigue Sigue Sputnik and A Place To Bury Strangers. The band have also headlined and sold out ‘Alan Magee’s Death2Disco’ at Notting Hill Arts Club.

The electro punks have a prolific output, releasing seven singles to date; this has helped the band pick up a swell of support from all four corners of the globe with numerous rock and alternative radio shows taking the band into their hearts by putting them on heavy rotation. The threesome have been featured on BBC Introducing, and were invited into the studio by Tom Robinson for his BBC 6 Music show. Their underground attitude to video production has also received great praise from many, including Irvine Welsh, who, after viewing the video for ‘What’s So Good About’, proclaimed it as ‘Brilliant’.

Calling All Astronauts now press on with the release of their blistering new second album ‘Anti-Social Network’, which is out now in stores via Supersonic Media and rammed with eleven killer cuts. Look out for festival and summer shows later this year.

Guitar Virtuoso Rene Benton Releases Brand New Album

US Guitarist Rene Benton To Release “Xpressions Too!!! (Short Storeez)” On Feb 29th

Xpressions2 Artwork_RingMaster Review

Fresh off the back of a stunning appearance at NAMM, American guitar wizard Rene Benton is set to release his latest album “Xpressions Too!!! (Short Storeez) on Feb 29th!

Inspired by a number of personal tragedies and triumphs; US guitar virtuoso Rene’ Benton put blood, sweat and fears into his latest work, the thrilling “Xpressions Too!!! – Short Storeez”, and it very much shows!

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Rene’ decided to dedicate his energy towards music following a stint in the Marines. He quickly began touring extensively throughout the United States and across the globe, in the process producing an astounding resume. Scoring gigs alongside luminaries like Chubby Checker, Gigi Hamilton, Tuhran Terrell (Anita Baker), drummer Jerome “Stixx” Davis (Tony Rich), actor/ singer Hunter Gerard and chart topping star Louie Louie and many others.

Rene’ was also involved with the modern musical Dreamscape, created and performed by Steve Reed, percussionist for fusion jazz legends – The Rippingtons. He’s also recorded with Grammy award winning artist Sleepy Brown, who wrote Outkast’s hit “I Like The Way U Move” and has chalked up multiple performances alongside artists like Grammy award winning bassist Mel Brown (Mark Anthony and George Benson), Christian Rapcore/Metal band Junkyard Prophet and a faction of British 70’s outfit The Fortunes, known for their hit “Here Comes That Rainy Day Feelin’ Again”.

Taking time to record his first full-length release, Rene’ employed expertise from bassist Troy Johnson, the dynamic drumming of Todd Roberson; both known for their work with Michael Lee Firkins, former Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy and their own instrumental powerhouse JRZ System. The result was a full throttle carpet ride sounding like a cross between Stevie Wonder and Tony MacAlpine at times.

For his current project Rene called on more musical friends, such as bassists Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai/Nuno Bettencourt/Mark Boals) and Kelly Conlon (Death/Monstrosity/Azure Emote), drummers Atma Anur (Greg Howe/Cacophony/Vinnie Moore/Jason Becker) & Paul Vowell (Radioactive Chickenheads/Green Jelly) and Funk guitar legend Charlie Singleton(Cameo) and a host of other incredible musicians.

If Rene’s body of work says anything, it’s that “Xpressions Too!!!” is a vastly diverse offering that has to be heard to be believed. Bold, brilliant and full of energy; Rene Benton is a name fans of Progressive guitar work across the world need to get familiar with now!

First Show On Hiraeth Tour With Lost In Despair Moved To Derby

Hiraeth Pic _RingMaster Review

The first date on London based agro mob Hiraeth’s upcoming UK tour in support of the stunning Lost In Despair has changed. The tour will now start in Derby at the Victoria Inn on Feb 19th.

The band are set to play the following dates:

Feb 19th – Victoria Inn – Derby

Feb 21st – The Lemon Factory – Swansea

Quickly building a name for themselves in the underground Melodic Hardcore scene, and scoring solid reviews from the likes of Metal Hammer & Terrorizer.

Combining high energy onslaughts in the vain of Gallows, and infectious melodies, that stand beside bands such as While She Sleeps and Defeater; Hiraeth are certainly on the brink of captivating a deprived audience across the UK with their sonic battery.

With a new EP firmly in the wings, and more shows booked across the year, Hiraeth are looking to make even bigger waves in 2016. Watch this space.

SPANKING NEW ALT-ROCKERS, LADY JANE’S REVENGE BURST ON TO THE UK SCENE!

Lady Jane's Revenge Online _RingMaster ReviewPromo Shot_RingMaster Review

Welcoming favourable comparisons to Mallory Knox, Incubus, Alkaline Trio and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Lady Jane’s Revenge unleash a fusillade of mighty riffs, a powerful rhythm section, and hooky vocal lines that burrow deep into your senses. The energetic alternative rockers release their debut EP ‘1554’ on Friday 26th February through all stores.

Hailing from the beautifully picturesque county of Cornwall, Lady Jane’s Revenge keenly embrace life amongst nature where the steady surf fuels the band with an exuberant positivity which is richly displayed throughout the music. Born at the start of 2015 and featuring Billy Crook (Vocals), Sam Kent (Guitar), James Coffey (Bass) and Ash Jenkin (Drums), the band soon gelled and bonded. Although the four-piece enjoy the free-spirited rocker lifestyle now, the members of the band have had far from a pampered upbringing, chocking up between them a varied array of jobs such as: mechanic, building labourer, an Apple computer specialist, and walking the long halls of Bristol Hospital as a porter.

In terms of touring, the downside of living life in Cornwall are the vast distances between shows. However, LJR have managed to overcome this predicament and have extensively gigged throughout the South West, playing with the likes of ‘Shatter Effect’ along the way. They have also picked up strong radio support including rotation on BBC Cornwall.

It’s now time for the band to break out to the rest of the UK and beyond. The quartet have the perfect bait in the shape of their enthralling debut EP ‘1554’ which delivers six cuts of energetic alt-rock, from the groove and contagious guile of ‘Floodgates’, to the Alkaline Trio-esque ‘The Kid Within’, and the hugely uplifting ‘PMA’, which nods in the direction of RHCP/Incubus. This is a band with a debut record that needs to be heard. With shows planned throughout the winter, including supporting ‘More Than Most’ and ‘Three Times Over’ on Friday, December 4th at the well renowned ‘The Islington Garage’, 2016 promises to be a killer year for the band.

POPULAR FRENCH POP PUNK OUTFIT, THE SHAPERS RELEASE NEW EP!

European trio ‘The Shapers’ set loose their spanking new EP ‘Reckless Youth’, through all digital platforms on Friday 26th February. Look out too as the gritty rockers prepare to tour the UK in 2016

The Shapers Online Promo Shot_RingMaster Review

Currently residing in Toulouse, France, Euro punk rockers ‘The Shapers’ delectably embrace the garage rock vibes of ‘The Hives’ and ‘Nirvana’, merged with the early urgent delivery of ‘Green Day’ and ‘A Day To Remember’. Born in 2009 and consisting of Anthony Cauvin (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Raphaël Bouissière (Bass/Backing Vocals), and Benoit Holin (Drums), this power trio have certainly undertaken the punk rock DIY ethos. With a keen zest for touring and adventure, the band headed out to China and Indonesia in 2011 to play a series of highly successful shows, and because of the response and support, the threesome returned the following year and again last year. In 2013, The Shapers won a ‘Best up-and-coming band’ competition, lapping up a prize to tour throughout North America where the alt-punks shared stages with punk rock legends NOFX and Pennywise. Last year, the band again toured, this time in Thailand. The three piece were overwhelmed with responses and will tour South East Asia again next year.

As well as a hearty diet for touring across the far reaches of the world, the band have also extensively played throughout France, and are currently planning their attack on the UK. Blessed with a CV that boosts support shows with The Flatliners, NOFX, Silverstein, Pennywise, Face To Face, and Dream on Dreamer, and critical acclaim for 2012’s debut album ‘Everybody Needs To Have A Dream’, which picked up rampant praise across the board, the band show no signs of letting up.

The Shapers dropped their video single “Can’t Forget”, directed by Mayol (media director of Vans, who has worked with successful bands like the Foo Fighters, among many others) this summer. The single is the opening track from the band’s hotly anticipated new EP ‘Reckless Youth’, which is unleashed this February. With six cuts of scuzzy punk, the record is a true calling to all fans of Punk in its varied forms. Drawing from the early vigour of Blink 182 and the raw power of Nirvana, marinated with a hint of The Subways, this EP is destined to break the band to the UK.
